Opening its doors in the fall of 2012 to 180 students in K-8th grades, the Charlton Heston Academy (CHA) serves students in northern Michigan with a rigorous, engaging and rewarding educational experience. An innovative year round schedule and a bold commitment to serve all students exceptionally well regardless of external circumstances drives the team at CHA each and every day. The school has since grown to serve over 500 students in Pre K - 11th grades and will add 12th grade in the fall of 2016. The school is also completing an exciting facility expansion to fully actualize its mission and vision to ensure that all kids win! CHA was created by a group of passionate parents and community members that wanted more for their kids. The only school in St. Helen, Michigan, a family-centered community of approximately 3500 permanent residents, CHA is now the largest employer in town and has helped revitalize its community. The school's core values are simple; LOVE, COMMUNITY, EXCELLENCE, TEAMWORK and GRIT! A range of opportunity are available for the 2015-16 school year, including teaching positions at all levels (elementary and various secondary subject-specific positions). For the right candidates, the school will entertain positions beginning the in the spring/summer of 2016 as teaching assistants, substitute teachers and co-teachers prior to assuming a full time positions when the 2016-17 school year begins.
