It was great to participate in the inner workings of a competitive campaign and learn skills that can be broadly applied to campaigning and other similar work. It also had a very flexible schedule, which I was able to fit around my classes and other responsibilities.
What I wish was different
I wish there was more diversity in tasks. We did basically the same thing for every shift. That may just be the nature of campaigns, but I felt like I learned less and less as the internship progressed because I wasn't doing anything new.
Advice
If you're given the opportunity to meet employees higher up than you, take it! Don't feel like you need to have anything super impressive or "worthwhile" in order to go talk to them. If they've offered, it's because they want to get to know you all.
