Improbable Players [IP] is nonprofit educational theater company dedicated to the prevention of substance addiction. We do this through groundbreaking theatrical pieces based on the true stories of people in recovery. Since 1984, we've performed at hundreds of middle schools, high schools, and colleges in the Massachusetts, New York, and Cleveland areas. We've also performed at conferences, treatment centers, and community events across the country.
The mission: to set the stage for prevention by educating the public about addiction and recovery through dramatic performances and theater workshops -presented by actors who are in long-term recovery from addictions - that help people recognize situations in their own lives and seek the help they need. The Players speak openly about their own recovery experience to reach out to those who struggle with addiction to alcohol and other drugs - their own or someone else's - and help them find their own path to recovery.
IP is run by a small management team out of an office in downtown Watertown. We’re a collaborative, creative, and easy-going bunch. We are always seeking driven interns to make our mission possible. Applications are rolling -email resume & cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
