Very flexible scheduling which helps when being a full time college student. Get to work with other members and improve my social skills as well as my multitasking skills.

They would be able to offer more hours.

Advice

Nice job for those looking to have a little extra side income especially for college students. The majority of the staff consist of other college students which makes the work environment even more enjoyable.

I wish that when school started, they were more flexible with my schedule as a student. I wanted to continue working, but the hours were too demanding on top of being in college.

Advice

It's a fun summer job! Great way to learn customer service. Never had a customer I couldn't handle.

What I liked

I liked everything about my internship experience. From the solo adventure of setting out to Wisconsin to work at Kohl’s HQ, down to the company culture and projects I got to lead. While pursuing my role as a digital merchandiser, I got the opportunity to be a part of the Sephora, shoes, and accessories team (an absolute dream job) and participate as though I was an official Kohl’s employee who has been apart of the family for years. My creativity and perspectives mattered in every discussion and feeling as valued as I did here, is a treasure all on its own.

What I wish was different

I think extending the internship from 4 weeks in Wisconsin to possibly the full 10 weeks or so would have been amazing.

Advice

Go into Kohl’s with an open mind and expecting the unexpected. I had no idea how wonderful the company culture of the business was, nor the significant support and leadership opportunities I would receive from my fellow team. I truly never thought about a future with Kohl’s prior to the internship and now I have one, and it’s the most exciting journey unimaginable.

I like the manager I worked under and how I could see first hand the culture he created within the particular store location I interned at.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have been given more responsibility and treated as another manager in the store. At times it really felt like I was treated as an extra pair of hands.

Advice

I would share to incoming interns at Kohl's to really keep an open mind the entire time and be able to quickly adapt because you will be doing new tasks every single day!

definitely cause a little chaos. Its ok to be a management intern and do things your way. You are only there for a little bit and you're there to see if you have the potential and to see if your ideas have potential as well.
