Lion Forge Animation

Production Intern

September - November 2022 • Creve Coeur, MO

What I liked

I loved being able to see and learn from all of the different departments in animation like production, storyboarding, and art production. Everyone was also very kind and was more than willing to answer any questions I had.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have worked on-site more since I mostly worked from home.

Advice

If as an intern you want to learn about art production, it is helpful to have basic knowledge about Adobe programs (specifically Illustrator and Photoshop)

Intern

January - May 2022 • Saint Louis, MO

What I liked

I learned a lot about working in a studio and what I learned was often tailored to me specifically. The environment was inclusive and well organized.

What I wish was different

I would have loved to opportunity to do more on-site work but given covid I understand

Advice

You will always get as much out of an experience as you put in. Everyone at Lion Forge was incredibly helpful and willing to answer questions so ask as many dumb questions as possible.

Animation Intern

January - May 2021 • Creve Coeur, MO

What I liked

I liked that I learned more than I was expecting. I thought I would just be animating when I actually learned more about the entire process it takes to get to the animation portion.

What I wish was different

I wish I got to animate more, but I am grateful for everything I learned.

Advice

Don't animate fights, employers are tired of seeing them. Also make sure to be a sponge and learn everything that you can.
