Assistant Researcher

May - August 2018 • Durham, NC

What I liked

I liked how I was able to learn necessary researching skills when it comes to finding and "grooming" the information that is needed off of university websites and job sites, and coding the information into a Microsoft Excel sheet

What I wish was different

I would have liked to have had the original help of breaking up certain stages that another researcher wouldve had part of to better organize the information because their was an abundance of research to do. This would have made the researching process more effiecient and would've taken less time to complete. I was very time consuming for one person to work on this project alone, especially while taking summer classes as well.

Advice

To work as a researcher, it takes a lot of soft skills and analytical skills to do this job, but in the end, this experience will help you come out with skills that will help with your senior project and pursue your PhD.
