What I liked

This internship has been a true eye-opener for me. I appreciate PD for all it has done. I knew I had an interest in CRE but didn't understand what sector of it I wanted to dive into. However, through PD, I have been able to work with professionals in the industry in ALL sectors of CRE. The professionals are always more than happy to help and answer any questions. This is THE BEST program if you are genuinely interested in CRE! I 1000% recommend applying!

What I wish was different

I wish I had understood the importance of holding my peers accountable. Life is all about learning, and I hope to apply it in life in general. Accountability for yourself and those around you is vital for the program and the industry.

Advice

GIVE IT YOUR ALL. Invest time in the program. If you do not understand something, ask questions. NETWORK. The way I see it is, PD helps you unlock the door. If you want to open it and discover new opportunities and possibilities, it is up to you.

What I liked

I liked that Project Destined feels like a place where I belonged. It is not only very inclusive but also diverse. They make sure to present you with numerous opportunities in the different sectors of real estate. You are never alone when it comes to asking for help, there is always going to be someone there to help you with any question you might have. If that person does not know the answer they will go to tremendous lengths to make sure you get connected with the right people. Lastly, many industry professionals give amazing insight into their careers and the sector of real estate that they work in.

What I wish was different

I wish the times and days that executive speakers would have presentations were more scattered instead of having them around the same time every week. This is because some students might have class during these set times, which would result in them having to choose class over valuable insight into the world of real estate.

Advice

I would say to get to know your fellow colleagues as soon as possible, by this I mean the very first meeting. Building this connection and friendship with them will allow you all to be honest with each other when it comes to creating presentations. You will be able to give constructive criticism without worrying about what they will think. Also have fun, as simple as this sounds it is very important to enjoy what you will be doing. If you do not then it will only feel like extra work instead of it being a valuable experience that will help your professional development.

What I liked

I loved how comprehensive the program was. Not only were we able to work with other amazing interns from around the nation, we were also able to consult with mentors from well known companies on what we were learning. The competitions were so fun to participate in because we were able to see all of our hard work come together. The program also includes speaker events with industry professionals, as well as opportunities to enroll in many bootcamps to supplement our understanding in commercial real estate. This program has helped me embark in my journey within real estate, and I am so glad I went through it.

What I wish was different

Advice

My advice would be to ask as many questions and don't be afraid to talk to as many people as possible. Everyone is so kind and willing to help out, and people here are truly invested in your growth.
