Rutgers University - Student Orientation and Transition Programs

About Rutgers University - Student Orientation and Transition Programs

The mission of New Student Orientation and Transition Programs is to welcome, prepare and engage new students and their families as they transition to Rutgers University-New Brunswick. During the year, NSOFP focuses on assisting around 7,000 new students (first-year and transfer) and family members in their transition to Rutgers. The department collaborates with campus partners across the university through opportunities such as Welcome Week, Transfer Week, Spring Orientation, and more.

Come be a part of our team to welcome over 7,000 new Scarlet Knights to the Rutgers community. We are planning for an in person orientation experience with virtual components. Incoming students participate in a First Year 2 day (1 night) experience or a Transfer 1 day experience on campus. This is a tremendous opportunity for current students to share their experiences, advice, and RUTGERS PRIDE with our incoming students and their families!

We have 2 types of positions/roles that support our in-person orientation program for each summer; Orientation Leaders and Orientation Coordinators
