Owned and operated by Easterseals Central Illinois, Timber Pointe Outdoor Center is the premier resource in the state of Illinois for providing specialized outdoor recreational programs for individuals with disabilities and illnesses in a safe, accessible, and FUN environment! Lodging and programming is modified to ensure children and adults of ALL abilities can have a successful and unforgettable camp experience. Traditional camp activities such as canoeing, zip lining, horseback riding, archery, arts and crafts, and more are all adapted so that every camper is 100% included and 100% empowered.
We not only host our own camp sessions, but work with partner camps such as Camp Hope for children with a previous or current diagnosis of cancer or blood disorder, and MDA Summer Camp for children with muscular dystrophy and related diseases.
By attending a session at Timber Pointe, campers develop skills such as independence, relationship-building, problem-solving, and creativity while building their confidence and self-esteem. Rather than seeing them for what they can't do, we focus on their abilities and what they CAN accomplish!
