It was super laid back, and a great opportunity to network and get my foot in the door. You will also get some pretty cool opportunities while working here. We went to all kinds of special events and restaurants.

Intern
August - December 2019 • San Antonio, TX
What I liked
Fernando was extremely flexible with all of his interns. He understood that this experience was unpaid and would always tell us that "family, school, and work comes first." He was always willing to help us and would coach us as to how to do things we may not have any idea what to do. Working here was fun and I learned a lot about social media that I really didn't understand all too well. But most importantly, I learned how to communicate with clients and build solid relationships with them to ensure a win-win situation.

What I liked
What I love about interning here is the organic environment. You truly get to do a lot of hands on projects that allow you to step outside of your comfort zone. I find this to be beneficial because it lets you discover if you can actually see yourself doing this as a career once you are out of college. I was able to write a lot of articles and have them published which was a big accomplishment for me. Fernando is always willing to teach you something new, and has the patience to work with you whenever you find yourself struggling. I have enjoyed my time here.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have done my internship here in the fall semester instead. I feel as if I would have been able to dedicate more time to the various projects I have been apart of. Other than that, I have no regrets or negative things to say.
Advice
One piece of advice would be to voice what you are passionate about from the start so that you can start to better your craft throughout the semester. Internships are a time to make mistakes that aren't as permanent as they would be at a full-time job. Take risks, enjoy yourself!

Social Media Intern
January 2019 • San Antonio, TX
What I liked
The environment is very friendly and accepting! It is laid back and offers flexibility for your schedule. The owner truly understands that school, family or work is a priority during the internship and he wants you to succeed at anything you set your mind to! I am able to go on a lot of fun tours, concerts and events around San Antonio as part of the intern team. I have enjoyed interning for Valamayo Social!
What I wish was different
Nothing! This internship has exceeded my expectations and has been a very positive experience.
Advice
I would say be prepared to learn a lot and have fun! This is not a typical internship as the learning and networking opportunities are far beyond what most internships in SA can offer.
