What I liked

I was able to use my own creativity and ideas to help with the general tasks that I was given and go out and work with people in different areas

What I wish was different

A lot of the internship was virtual due to COVID

Advice

It was a great experience and reaching out helped in getting to do as much as possible and to get a lot out of it

Agriculture and Natural Resources Intern

May - August 2021 • Montross, VA

What I liked

I really liked how you got to get to know the community really well, and you were able to see how your programming was impacting people. Another plus was there was always something different to do so I never got bored.

What I wish was different

The experience was exactly how I expected, and I don't think I would have it any other way. I really got the most out of the position and it was really rewarding being able to work on so many projects.

Advice

I would say just be prepared to be flexible if you work for extension. You are working with people, so that can lead to some unexpected things. Make sure you keep a positive attitude.
