The West Chester Fire Department is one of the oldest continually operating 100% volunteer fire departments in the country, comprised of over 100 Active Volunteer Firefighters in your local community.
NO EXPERIENCE is necessary to join The West Chester Fire Department, just a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. We'll teach you the practical skills of being a firefighter while helping you to build the many transferrable skills that you can take with you anywhere after graduation.
On average, the West Chester Fire Department responds to over 1,200 calls for service each year. This includes house and commercial structure fires, vehicle fires, auto accidents, brush and woods fires, residential and industrial rescues, water rescues, and automatic fire alarms. The WCFD is a part of Chester County Fire Task Forces 1 and 2, which comprise a portion of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Regional Task Force.
If you want to help make a difference in your community then we've got a place for you!
