I loved it! I lead missions trips for high school youth groups and facilitated the ministry part of the experience. It was an experience of a life time.

What I liked
It was a great experience to meet new people and work in an environment that was quite new to me. Stepping out of my comfort zone was difficult, but it was rewarding in the end to see the growth I made throughout the summer.

Go for it wholeheartedly and trust that God will show you the way for your life and for the summer. He works wonders, and I encourage you to take the step of faith and see what He has planned.

What I liked
I liked working with the youth and teaching them about God's word. I really enjoyed exploring the city of San Diego and learning about the culture of it.
What I wish was different
I wish the evening gathering where we did praise and worship lasted longer, because that was a time we all came together and talked about our day and shared where we saw God throughout the day.
Advice
Always stay open to God's word, because you never know what he will have in store for you.

What I liked
I absolutely loved my job. The people at YouthWorks are dedicated to keeping a Christ centered environtment in the workplace. I was serving people in need every day, growing as a Christian, and refining my leadership skills.
What I wish was different
The location placement is chosen for you, and the people you work with are picked by a team as well. While this worked well for me, I think knowing the team ahead of time might lead to better experiences overall.
Advice
Only apply to this job if you are willing to be stretched, as it is a lot of hard work and intensive training right at the beginning to prepare you for the summer ahead.

What I liked
It was an amazing opportunity to grow as an individual. It helped with trouble shooting, team collaboration and communication, and with individual tasks such a as routines or responsibilities.
What I wish was different
That it had more options to run with/ develop personally (as a site) with.
Advice
Know that it will be hard, but if you stick it out it’ll be so rewarding and you will have learned so much.
