In the morning, we'd change into scrubs, follow a PA to specified surgeries or departments, such as cardio, ortho, neuro, etc. We'd then observe surgeries within the surgical room. I followed around his medical team, including medical residents and med students. I attended class with the med students and followed them while they made rounds in the morning. I also had the opportunity to watch many surgeries with the General Surgeon and learn the process of conducting a surgery.

You spend two weeks shadowing a doctor in the hospital setting and two weeks in an outpatient setting (at one of their many clinics). You can set your own schedule with the doc that you are shadowing and are usually matched to a field that you designated as interesting to you on your application.
