Gartner is a great place to kick start a career. The program is fantastic even if you realize sales is not for you. You gain a lot of skills. You are directly communicating with c-level people from a really wide range of companies. Gartner’s name is held in high regard in the business world. You will gain business acumen. You will understand how to work towards targets/metrics as well as work in a collaborative and competitive environment. You will learn how to take feedback and implement it. You will learn best in class sales strategy. You will learn how to be comfortable talking to anyone. You will have to deliver a complex, non-tangible value proposition in a clear and concise way(great skill to have). I work in consulting now and my time at Gartner helped me be immediately successful with client communication and gain trust from my clients that I knew what I was doing.
