News Web Intern
May - August 2018 • New York City, NY
What I liked
Being treated seriously and feeling like an important part of the team.
Writing news articles and helping with web and social media coverage of newsworthy events happening in the tri-state area.
Being in a welcoming and encouraging environment that allowed me to branch out into other parts of the newsroom and go out into the field and help with coverage.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more time to try different things- but since I was really contributing I was always kept busy.
Advice
If you are interested in journalism and live in the tri-state area, definitely apply to this internship. Being a student at Barnard really made a difference when it came to choosing interns and I believe that the skills that I have acquired at Barnard helped me land this amazing opportunity.
