I enjoyed the responsibilities of managing the pool. I also taught kids how to swim and I lifeguarded. Every experience I've had there was beneficial in improving my management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
What I wish was different
I wish that I could have worked this job as a part-time job and focused on jobs similar to my major. Additionally, I had to deal with parents who would get upset if their child did not pass a level. Since I took over this job, I have practiced ways to de-escalate situations and let people understand my point of view while respecting theirs.
Advice
One piece of advice that I learned from this job is that every day is a different day. Nothing ever happens the same way and you have to be prepared for anything.
