ADAC Automotive

Manufacturing Engineering Intern

May - August 2021 • Saranac, MI

What I liked

I really liked the company culture and the people that i worked with

What I wish was different

I wish the automotive industry wasn't still recovering from the effects of covid because the work was sometimes more operator or helping make shipments than the engineering projects i was looking forward to. regardless it was great experience and i still learned a great amount and was happy to help anywhere needed.

Advice

Being on time and dependable and willing to ask questions is very important especially in a fast paced environment like manufacturing and especially automotive.

Purchasing Intern

May - August 2019 • Grand Rapids, MI

What I liked

There was a lot of different software systems I was able to learn how to use, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX, IHS, and Baggira. I was also able to help make a lot of big decisions regarding the new headquarters that was being built. I felt my role was important in helping the purchasing department.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more of a project based internship as a lot of the stuff I did was pretty random. The tasks I had to do still taught me a lot, though and the smaller projects I had we're definitely useful!

Advice

I would recommend getting to know your fellow interns really well because you will definitely have opportunities where you need to work together and communicate.
