Great opportunity to have my school paid for by the Air Force.

Electronics Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • Hill Air Force Base, UT

What I liked

I liked working right next to the runway and watching the planes on my lunch break.

What I wish was different

There really wasn't a whole lot for me to do. It takes 80% of the internship just to have enough paperwork done that you can start working. So most of the time you stare at a wall.

Advice

Be patient. The work you will do for the Air Force will be amazing! It just takes a lot of red tape before you get there.

Do not hesitate if you are thinking about joining, the people you meet and the experiences you have are like none other.

Aeronautical Engineering Intern

June - August 2019 • Edwards, CA

What I liked

I was able to experiance flight test engineering and work alongside some of the best engineers and pilots in the Air Force.

What I wish was different

There was very little work for the interns or new hires to do. As a result I spent about 6 weeks reading old test reports.

Advice

Ask questions early about how different processes work and what all the different acronyms mean.

That I had more work to do. I was able to finish it all early and so had a lot of time on my hands.

Advice

If you can get a government job over the summer go for it because it pays well and depending on what it is the hours are reasonable.
