Steve & Jeannine Marks' vision of a marathon in Akron, Ohio, has continued its legacy of hosting world-class events. As our events have grown, so has our community support, with over 3,000 volunteers and 120,000 spectators. Likewise, we have created significant economic and social contributions in our community.
MISSION
The mission of the Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation is to provide a world-class marathon and other events that promote health and fitness, stimulate the local economy, galvanize the community and benefit charitable organizations.
