I had to go later in the summer, I wish I had been able to go at the beginning for orientation
Advice
In any camp counseling position, personal time in the Word is the most critical thing I could suggest to anyone. Pouring into others becomes exhausting and can lead to burnout if you do not walk out your own relationship with Jesus alongside ministering for the Kingdom.
