What I liked

- This is a fully remote company, so you can work wherever you want. - An incremental approach to work. You start with small tasks and build toward bigger ones. For example, my first task was changing some text in a client's React app. Then I asked for and got to write tests. Then I worked on UI / bug fixes, then a fullstack feature. - One-on-one weekly meetings with your manager to make sure you're learning and feeling okay. These are usually 30 minutes long. - A free work computer and T-shirts. - A very relaxed, casual, and friendly company atmosphere. Everyone is valued here. For example, I interned over the summer and was offered to continue working during the school year at reduced hours. They were very accommodating about the hours and when I said I'd be okay with my current rate ($30 / hour), they bumped me to $35 anyway.

What I wish was different

Because this is a fully remote company, you don't always get to have a lot of daily social interaction. That being said, there are in-person company retreats a few times a year and weekly happy hours on Zoom.

Advice

Communicate. Ask for tasks and help and you'll get them. For example, I asked to write tests for a project and a fellow co-worker helped me set the project up for them when I had trouble.
