What I liked

I liked that I was able to work in a nursing home facility through Bestcare rather than working in individualized patient homes. I found that this helped me to become increasingly confident in my skills with other aides by my side. This support system helped me to get the best out of this position.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was increased flexibility in the working hours. I enjoyed the routine of my schedule, however if a conflict came up, it was very hard to switch schedules.

Advice

Be prepared to work seven 12-hour shifts every 14 days. It is a demanding job, however every patient within the nursing home is very appreciative of the work, and there is a team of other aides and nurses willing to help assist with your transition!
