Binghamton University

English Speaking Assistant

December 2022 - May 2023 • Binghamton, NY

What I liked

I enjoyed the opportunity to help international students with their essay writing. I understand that school is difficult for most, so imagine how much more challenging it would be to take classes in a language other than your first. I liked being a person that students could come to for help on an individual level.

I wish my assigned professor had been more involved in my experience.

Building Custodian

June - August 2018 • Binghamton, NY

What I liked

The people I worked with made the experience one that will stick with me. They taught me many lessons on top of what I was doing on the job and made the experience enjoyable. Being given responsibilities and jobs that other people at my level were not given was also an enjoyable bonus to have.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had been given more training in more areas of the job so that I could have been given a bigger variety of jobs throughout the summer.

Advice

Getting along with the people you work with is going to be one of the most important. They have the ability to make the experience more enjoyable and can help you learn more about how to do certain jobs within the job.
