The BIO5 Institute connects and mobilizes top hundreds of scientists, engineers, physicians, and computational researchers from across the University of Arizona to find creative solutions to humanity’s most pressing health and environmental challenges. Since 2001, this interdisciplinary approach has been an international model of how to stimulate collaborative research, and has resulted in improved food crops, innovative diagnostics and devices, disease prevention strategies, and promising new therapies. BIO5 also interfaces with a wide variety of constituents across Arizona, as well as both the national and global science communities.
