Bittersweet Farms is a private non-profit that offers an array of premier services to adults and adolescents with autism delivered in the context of an agricultural community. Our unique model offers individuals with autism supports that allow them to grow and to develop their abilities and talents in an agricultural setting. Our Direct Support Professionals follow a model created by Bittersweet called M.A.P.S. - meaning and motivation, aerobic activity and active engagement, partnership and purpose, and structure and support. This model supports a community of interdependence and a healthy, holistic environment in which the potential of each participant is envisioned and developed. Bittersweet fully supports the needs of individuals with autism through residential, vocational, and recreational services. Bittersweet, Inc. currently has three locations in Ohio: Whitehouse, Pemberville, and Lima.
