What I wish was different
I wish they had more thorough training, were more open about the job duties upfront, and cared about their interns. During the interview, I was told that I would be involved in several different aspects of the company. However, all I got to do was cold calling. I would call a list of 30 people on average daily, along with follow up emails. Most people didn't respond, and almost everyone who did respond told me to stop contacting them. Rather than tweak the process or acknowledge its shortcomings, the blame was shifted onto me for its lack of success. I was let go with no notice.
