I loved the area as well as having the opportunity to visit a few of the properties and enjoy what they had to offer. I also got to talk with many people who had different ideas about how things should run and how the council should be involved in the LDS transition.

Children are the future, no matter if you’re teaching them to swim or helping them learn STEM subjects, they will remember you for a long time and you can put a spark in them that could light the fires of the future.

Cooler weather! It's all on an outside Challenge Course.

Stay active, share what you learn, listen more than you speak, and never forget to have fun while you do it.

Interacting with the kids, teaching, helping them adjust to camp life, basic first aid experiences

What I wish was different

I was working 24/7–literally. I was only allowed off camp for a few hours once/week. The hours I was on camp I could be summoned to do anything including emergency first aid

It was an amazing experience I would recommend to everyone. If you have a love for teaching or working with kids this is the job for you.

What I liked

Such energy and excitement from young kids towards what I was teaching them. Also the many compliments I received from parents and leaders about provided a fun and enjoyable experience while keeping the kids in order and in a safe environment.

Many 12 hour days, 6 days a week.

It's a great way to get a taste of some of the joys of teaching in a fun environment.

Gave a lot of flexibility to make your own program and tweak what they already have in order to create a better experience for the kids

Whenever you have a set curriculum, make a checklist and check that checklist 10 min before the lesson starts.
