What I liked

I was grateful to meet people and interview the survivors of the Rana Plaza tragedy of 2013. It was rewarding to assess their needs and understand the living conditions they are now in. I was able to apply my people skills in interviews and met many people who went on to share life-changing stories.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have worked there for a longer duration of time to fully understand and acclimate with the job.

Advice

This internship required a lot of physical and emotional effort and was a journey of self-discovery. If there's one piece of advice that I would share, it would be to leave one's pride at the door, because the interactions you're involved in and the relationships you build are with people of a starkly different lifestyle, background, and upbringing, and to work at BRAC is to understand and respect these differences.
