I was treated like a full time employee and given the same tasks and responsibilities that the other engineers had. They did a very good job integrating us into the work environment and making sure we received all the training needed to do our job.
What I wish was different
Being able to design and produce more testing fixtures and doing less work that could have been done by techs.
Advice
Ask as many questions as possible and try to make relationships with those you work with. Also understand that they know you're coming in with little to no experience and are willing to teach if you are willing to learn.
