I enjoyed my time at my internship. It was great to see how all of the different departments work and make up such a big corporation. Everyone that I met was super nice and friendly. I was also able to work with an all women team which was great to see women dominating in the Media and Communications industry.
What I wish was different
I wish that I was able to shadow the different positions in my section more. This would have given me a broader perspective on how the department really functions.
Advice
One piec of advice that I would share is to soak up everything that you can when you are at your internship. When you are there, be there! This means not doing homework, on your phone, etc. Take full advantage of the opportunity afforded to you. I promise it is worth it and all of the other stuff will still be there when you leave for the day. Lastly, talk to people and establish connections. You'd be surprised how a simple "Good Morning" or "How was your weekend" paired with a smile could make someones day. Plus, it is too easy just to speak and have a positive attitude. You want to stand out and make them remember you, and sometimes how you do this is just by creating conversations and cultivating those relationships.
