Bronxcare Health System (formerly Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center)

About Bronxcare Health System (formerly Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center)

Bronx-Lebanon is now a 972 bed teaching hospital and health care system, with two hospital divisions, a major psychiatric facility, two specialized long-term care facilities, and an extensive BronxCare Network of outpatient practices, including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Center. We now provide more than 1 million outpatient visits annually, and are also certified as a Level Three Patient Centered Medical Home by the National Center for Quality Assurance, a further indication of our outpatient excellence.

In the inpatient area, our expert and experienced physicians, nurses, and support team are delivering high quality and compassionate care. ER volume has increased to 141,000 visits for 2013. Additionally, our designated Health Home, a collaborative effort with more than 50 community organizations, is effectively responding to the needs of individuals with multiple medical and mental health conditions. We are also completely computerized, with all elements of an electronic medical record in place to optimize patient access and care.

The completion of our new $42 million Health and Wellness Center and $34 million Life Recovery Center are perfect examples of Bronx-Lebanon's success. These facilities and our other major projects, throughout the years, have improved the health and well-being of our patients and the community. In fact, as a financially stable institution, and as economic anchor and engine for positive change, we have infused more than $300 million into the Bronx economy. Bronx-Lebanon's health care services and programs, as well as its nutritional, educational, and housing initiatives are a clear sign of hope for our patients, our employees, and our community.

In looking to the future, we are confident that Bronx-Lebanon will continue to reach out to the community with quality patient care, compassion, new facilities, and new programs. We will consistently reinforce our role as "Doctor to the Community" by keeping patients healthy and assuring 100% access to our services, while always striving to heal, to teach, and to care.
