What I liked

Being an intern at Brookfield allowed me to network with many of the members. I secured the internship I serve at now because I met the President of the company at Brookfield. I was also given a lot of autonomy and could ask to take on multiple roles/tasks.

What I wish was different

There is not a lot of guidance because you are working under golf professionals, — not a marketing professional.

Advice

Use your time at Brookfield to gain experience and network! This internship has the potential to lead you to future opportunities.

I love the fact that I build personal relationships with the members. These aren't random people that come in to eat anymore- they are family!

What I wish was different

I wish there was a bigger opportunity for promotions.

Always be kind- you never know what someone is going through!

Golf Course Halfway House Employee

What I liked

I loved being able to interact with members on the course driving the beverage cart and working in the halfway house. In addition, I also loved working inside the clubhouse as a banquet server and a servers assistant. I loved being able to see an event from start to finish, from the set up to the clean up, especially because this is something I want to do in my future as an event meeting and management major.

What I wish was different

The only thing I wish that would have been different was having another girl working the halfway house with me, specifically on weekends because that was when it was the busiest and having another set of hands would have been helpful.
