catering

March - July 2019 • Idaho Falls, ID

What I liked

I liked doing the big jobs and seeing how everything was organized all the way to how we served the food.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more catering experiences instead of regular daily orders.

Advice

It is a good learning experience, but if you want to get a ton of catering experience I do not recommend it. I did get some good experience, just did not feel like it was enough.

Cashier

September 2018 • Rexburg, ID

What I liked

I enjoyed meeting people from all over the nation and world and it helped me keep my life on some sort of schedule for the time that I wasn't at school.

What I wish was different

I didn't like the long hours or feeling like I was being treating as if I wasn't a person. I also didn't enjoy the fact that it wasn't the most creative job, very rule bent, but that's because I am rather creative.

Advice

Try to find something good in every day, whether it is a good coworker, an interesting customer, etc. Ask customers more than just "how was your day" but "what's a great book/movie/etc that you have recently read/seen/etc." or just try to be nice. At the end of the day, find a way to get away from work. Do that things that don't let it become your sole purpose in life. It's just a job, not you.

March - July 2020 • Afton, WY

What I liked

I really enjoyed the social networking of working at Broulims. Afton is a small town so it allowed me to meet lots of new people which I really enjoyed!

What I wish was different

The one thing that was hard at times was there would be periods of time where we would not have a lot to do. I wish that we would have a couple of small things to do to fill in the time that we didn't have customers.

Advice

One piece of advice that I would share with someone looking at getting a job at Broulims is to be proactive in finding things to do. Management will notice and good things will happen.
