Student nurse intern
January 2021 • Providence, RI
What I liked
Hands-on clinical experience.
What I wish was different
I wish there was more one-on-one time with the nurses. The position takes a CNA assignment which was not advertised as such when I applied.
Advice
It is a great option for anyone in nursing school who has no clinical experience outside of school. The student nurse intern title looks good on a resume, too.

August - December 2019 • Providence, RI
What I liked
I enjoyed the flexibility of the internship and how I was exposed to both in office work and able to explore the hospitals affiliated with Lifespan. I was able to sit in on meetings and participate in 'hospital rounds'.
What I wish was different
The only thing I wish would have been different was in terms of me being able to go more than once a week for one full day, I wish I was able to attend other days but my class schedule limited me on that.
Advice
My one piece of advice to share would have to be for someone who is planning on interning to definitely try and intern a full day rather than a few hours 2-3 times a week. I was able to get much more out of the experience by doing a whole day and being able to sit on different meetings throughout the day and it was just more productive in general.
