This was my first retail job so gaining experience in this field was an interesting thing to do over the summer.

Although gaining this experience was valuable my schedule wasn't as consistent as I would've liked
Advice
While the job itself isn't hard and is an excellent option for anyone looking for the first step into retail work this isn't something I recommend for the long-term because of the lack of consistency but aside from that if you are looking for a decent part-time job to work over the summer or even during school this is a decent choice.

This internship experience was extremely rewarding for me and I absolutely loved it! The Early Recruiting team puts together a welcoming and extremely informative program. I learned so much from the buyer and assistant buyers I shadowed, and it further solidified my desire to pursue buying after graduation!

What I liked
I liked the community of people that this store serves -- lots of families popping in and out for family shopping fun.
What I wish was different
I wish that the wages had been fairer in accordance with the work we did. I also wish that staff didn't talk about each other behind their backs, very unprofessional. I also wish that this store didn't have such a high turnover rate, as it led to us few remaining employees being overwhelmed with extra workloads every week.
Advice
Have tough skin and amazing people skills to deal with hostile customers. Additionally, the store stays open very late -- I'd advise not taking closing shifts because a lot of sketchy people come on after 8 pm.
