BYU Broadcasting

Video Control Operator

June 2019 • Provo, UT

What I liked

My coworkers are awesome. They are willing to answer any question I had. I also got to learn a new skill (how broadcasting works) that would've been otherwise difficult to learn about.

What I wish was different

It would be nice to cover more things than just sports, but for live TV, there aren't very many options.

Advice

Find people who have cool jobs and ask them to show you around. This is what opened the door for me to get in with BYUB.

What I wish was different

There's a lot of job opening that I would have never know about if I wasn't already here.

Advice

Having an opportunity to work in radio again after two years. I worked in radio for five years before BYU. Good memories!

What I wish was different

A higher pay probably, but I'm okay since I'm a student.

Advice

The people are amazing and it provides so many other opportunities for one to learn and develop new skills
