Camp Aldersgate provides year-round programming for children, ages 6-18, and young adults, ages 19-35, with special needs and medical conditions. Located in Little Rock, AR, Aldersgate provides a home away from home where a kid can feel like a kid again among their peers. Our core programs include summer camps, weekend camps and specialty camps. Several weeks of summer camp focus on specific medical diagnoses, while our Kota and Weekend Camps are available to campers with intellectual, developmental and/or physical disabilities. For over 76 years, Camp Aldersgate has strived to be a place of love, acceptance and inclusion.
Today, we offer a safe, barrier-free environment for campers to experience nature, adventure and independence. We could not provide our camps without dedicated counselors and counselors-in-training that commit to spending their time with us. These staff and volunteers assist with implementing program activities and supervising cabin groups, but most importantly, they help build up our campers by being a friend and a role model. Traditional camp activities such as ziplining, swimming, fishing, canoeing, archery and adaptive games are all part of the fun.
Camp Aldersgate is accredited by the American Camp Association and is the only camp in Arkansas dedicated to serving children with special needs. We also partner with several local and national partners including Arkansas Children’s, the American Diabetes Association and Med Camps of Arkansas.
