What I liked

Being in Maine all summer with the best ppl ever and running around with kids and that delicious poland spring water.

What I wish was different

Less seniority ruled special permissions. I get it's family owned, but it obliterates the sense of trust you think they have in you if you aren't ever allowed to do anything like a SLIP N SLIDE because risk of kids getting hurt at a SPORTS CAMP, then weeks later someone else being allowed "because she's colleen" and grew up there. I get it from a personal perspective I guess, but from a company morale stand point, I'm just trying to have fun with the kids and live up to the head of events title. Rather, give permission to ppl next time and send someone you may trust more to supervise if you're that concerned about it. Playing favorites is not cool.

Advice

oe yourself in it. This is an opportunity to meet the most important people in your life if you truly give yurself to it. You'll make friends worldwide, as most of the counselors are international, and everyone has the opportunity to bring out those aspects of yourself that may be hidden in the real world and gives a catalyst of an environment to try out something new for yourself. What I liked

Loved working with kids and in the beautiful part of Maine. Loved the staff and schedule of camp.

What I wish was different

Wish I had older kids. Wish they didn’t waste so much food.

It’s a great experience for anyone who likes to be outdoors, children and community environment.

Football Instructor and Camp Counselor

What I liked

I loved working with the kids and the relationships that I build with the staff that I was working with. I also loved that I was exposed to so many different sports and training. I even got experience with scheduling and field set up for multiple different sports which can help within my major (Sport Management).

What I wish was different

I wish that I would have stepped up a little bit more than I did and took more ownership in some situations. I was one of the assistant head football coach of the camp and I could've done a little more than what was expected of me.

Advice

This is a wonderful experience with some amazing people. You will be exposed to a wide range of sport and will probably leave this experience with a completely different idea of sport on a youth level.
