I wish I had more support from the management. That those kids had some sort of discipline or any.
Advice
This is a business, not a camp meant for bettering the kids. Know what you're getting yourself in to.

What I liked
It was fun and offered many benefits such as housing, food, and social activities. It was a great environment to meet people from all over and make lasting connections.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more time off. The nature of working at camp means working almost constantly, but when I was off work, I had some of the best days of my life exploring Maine.
Advice
It's okay to get experiences that don't directly relate to your degree plan. As an engineering major I found working at Camp Laurel was one of the best decisions I could have made. It gave me invaluable experience working on a team, improvising and planning, and being a strong leader of a group. All of which are some of the top skills that any employer is looking for.

Camp Counselor
May - September 2018 • Readfield, ME
What I liked
I enjoyed my time as a camp counselor and outdoor tripping guide at camp Laurel because I got to witness and share the first experiences outdoors with children. I was able to teach and share my passion with children of all ages through the outdoors, and that was such a rewarding process. Camp Laurel gives counselors the opportunity to share their expertise in various recreation activities while enjoying the nostalgia of a summer away at camp.

Advice
I think everyone who has the chance and the summer, should work as a camp counselor. You create so many memories with amazing children and staff that last a lifetime.
