My supervisor and co-interns were wonderful! The Parks Department and Farmers Market communities are kind and willing to get to know interns.
What I wish was different
The intern experiences pre-COVID sounded interesting, but obviously we couldn't do those during this time. They did a great job considering the circumstances.
Advice
Have an open mind and be ready to bring your own ideas to the internship! There is a lot of room to do your own work and come up with your own ideas, as well as work on ongoing projects.

Community Recreation Intern
May - August 2019 • Richmond, IN
What I liked
I learned a lot over the summer. I furthered the development of many skills, I was challenged with new tasks/experiences, and I was given the opportunity to network with and get to know many important community members.

Advice
This was a very rewarding experience, but all of the duties could be overwhelming at times. My advice would be to only do this internship if you welcome a challenge and want to be kept busy.
