Civil Engineering Intern
May 2018 • Waukesha, WI
What I liked
Applying knowledge from class in the real world. Being a part of every step of the engineering process of the city's projects and seeing these projects progress from concept to real to complete. Supervisors were flexible and understanding of my schedule. Office culture was friendly and enjoyable.
What I wish was different
More opportunities to assist the engineers with more technical work. There was some of this but a lot of the time I would be doing the "busy" work (albeit absolutely necessary) to make their jobs easier.
Advice
Learn as much as you can. Actively inquire to learn and experience more. It might not happen if you don't ask.
