Communicate! Ask questions, and ask for tasks. My supervisor is doing a lot, and I cannot expect him to be constantly thinking about what I need to know or what tasks I would like to do. It's not pushy to ask. It shows responsibility and proves you're invested in doing a quality job in helping the company.
