The veterinarian and staff were great teachers and very helpful and patient.
Lots of hands on work and independent thinking.
Working with a variety of animals, from goats and horses to tigers and monkeys!
Learning medical terminology and procedures.

What I wish was different
The heat (summer in Texas can be BRUTAL).
This isn't necessarily something I wish were *different*, but you do have to do mentally and physically draining work for long hours. It's not easy but it's SO rewarding!!
Advice
KEEP A DAILY LOG --- it will be so useful for your resume later on!
Apply yourself and take every opportunity to learn. Ask questions and genuinely *listen* when they're answered.
Observe EVERYTHING!!
