Sales Intern

June - August 2021 • Sunnyvale, CA

What I liked

I really liked the flexibility that working remote from home offered. I also enjoyed that I had clear communication at all times with my superior, who was also very understanding and made working during the pandemic so much more tolerable. I also liked the weekly sales meeting that I was able to sit in on, and learn more about what is to be a salesperson. The company held "Intern Lunch & Learns" as well, where all of the interns were invited to listen to a guest speaker and lunch together. It was a great networking moment as well, with a chance to meet a potential mentor.

What I wish was different

I wish I was able to meet my fellow employees and my boss in person, but it was still great seeing them over zoom.

Advice

I advise trying to pick up as many skills as you're able to during your internship, especially if it is remote. I learned so much more about Excel and Salesforce, for example, because I would try to learn shortcuts and other skills while completing projects.

I would reccomend to everyone that you don't just talk to people in your group. Get lunch with your boss , other managers and coworkers to learn from them.
