I have learned so much at Credera and have really been able to fine tune my abilities. I feel very prepared for my future career opportunities because I have gotten so much hands on experience during my UX research internship. I also love the company culture and people!

Put yourself out there! Get to know everyone you can around the office or at Credera, they're all awesome and will give you great insights!

What I liked

I loved the people. Everyone at the Credera genuinely cared about you and your growth at the company. They really treated you as a full time employee - as an intern I was able to demo my work to our client's stakeholders. The responsibilities given to me really allowed me to know I am ready to go into a full time job and am capable for it.

What I wish was different

I wish the title would have been different. I went into the role expecting a more client facing role, but the work I did was of a Software Engineer. Everyday, all I did was code and while I enjoyed it and learned a lot, it was not what I was expecting.

Advice

Don't be afraid to reach out to people. Every employee there is there for you. I reached out to a partner in the first and was able to get dinner with them one on one. It was a great opportunity to put myself out there and get to know Credera better. I had an open and honest conversation about myself and the company which made me feel much better that a partner was willing to sit down with an intern and hear their voice.

What I liked

I liked that Credera allowed me to work openly with their clients. I was put on a project team and was given work that I was able to both learn and have a meaningful contribution on. Credera has helped support me with anything I needed help with.

What I wish was different

I wish there were more intern events. I also wish there were not as many technical issues at the beginning of the internship.

Advice

The people at Credera are very helpful but only if you reach out. Make sure you reach out and get to know people. Credera is all about connections.

What I liked

You get a true feel for what to expect as a first year consultant at Credera. Credera is great about giving really impactful responsibilities in a manageable way. I felt that I had a great support system behind me with my onboarding buddy and career coach. There were a lot of chances to engage with the other interns and make friends through our professional development events.

Advice

Don't be afraid to reach out to anyone at Credera. Everyone I have met has been humble and more than happy to help with anything.

What I liked

My favorite part of the internship was the fact that everyone treats you like a full time employee -- training, client work and experiences all focus on being the best consultant, not intern. Credera's people-first culture makes the experience even more worthwhile since everyone is focused on your development and not just the work itself.

What I wish was different

Input into the different client and internal projects that we as interns were staffed on. Credera works closely with large companies across several industries and being able to rank those preferences before starting work would've been a nice touch.

Advice

Be open to quickly learning and applying new concepts and tools throughout your experience. The actual work you are doing will likely be different from school and what you expected so approach it with an open mind and be prepared to try new things.

What I liked

As an intern, I was treated like a full time employee - I had the opportunity to work on an actual project for a client. This experience challenged me to learn a new coding language and utilize applications I had never used before. My career coach, project mentor, and project team were supportive throughout the entire experience.

Be open minded about this experience. Make sure you get to know the other interns and full time employees from all practices!

What I liked

Really enjoyed my internship and getting to work on a client project and being treated like a full-time employee. Credera has a great work culture, where everyone wants you to succeed and it's easy to ask for help. Everyone is assigned a Career Coach and Onboarding Peer Mentor which makes it easy to know who to go to for help. During the internship, I was able to gain CS skills (Swift, iOS Development, etc) and soft skills (agile development, public speaking).

What I wish was different

Credera has a flexible connection model which is nice since you have the option of working remotely or in person on any given day. But this means that usually not a lot of full-time employees are in the office. Having more scheduled opportunities like happy hours to meet full-time employees would be nice.

Advice

Don't be afraid to reach out to anyone in the company for coffee chats, they're more than willing to talk with you about their experience. Sometimes there may not be much work directly assigned to you, but don't be afraid to reach out to your Project Director and see if there's anything in the backlog or documentation to write, or use that time to schedule coffee chats.

The fellow consultants are always pushing you to learn, ask questions, and to reach out. There is an immense support for wanting each other to do well as well as ensure a positive work culture. The internship program allowed for a full deep dive into the world of consulting with hands on, meaningful work.

What I liked

Loved the company culture! I really enjoyed meeting people in the office and in different practices. I also really liked how my team was very open to any questions I had and facilitated a collaborative atmosphere. Really enjoyed spending time with the intern class too!

Advice

Try to meet as many people in the office/virtually as possible! At a company where its collaborative culture is so valued, I found that people were always willing to chat and it was nice to see friendly faces in the office!

What I liked

The people are incredible and would be the type of people I would want to be friends with. I love the real-world client exposure and emphasis on work-life balance.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have gotten more information regarding the offices before deciding on a location - no regrets about working in the Denver location, but wish I would have explored other cities before deciding. If I would have talked to someone in each office prior to making a decision, I would have felt more confident.

Advice

I would encourage anyone, before an offer or not, to reach out to others and ask to talk to them regarding their experiences and what they enjoyed!

What I liked

I was given the opportunity to work on a client project as well as internal projects, providing variety in my work. Senior leadership was very accessible to talk to. HR was also flexible when it came to location, which I appreciated.

What I wish was different

I wish that there were more intern events planned to be able to have formal bonding time with other interns.

Ask to get involved so that you can make the most of the experience - you are not just limited to client work.

What I liked

Credera gave me the opportunity to see all sides of what Management Consulting is! I worked on various different clients and projects and gained a valuable skills that helped me grow professionally. Furthermore, the access to senior leadership was readily accessible, and I appreciated the performance feedback I received. Overall, I would highly recommend pursuing and opportunity at Credera in this practice.
