What I liked

I really enjoyed the flexibility of this internship. I was able to experience the many sides of construction by working with the estimators and shadowing the area manager and project managers.

What I wish was different

I wish that I could have gone out in the field more with the project managers.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. Everyone at this company is very kind and willing to give advice if needed.

What I liked

I really enjoyed being exposed to the construction industry, and being able to experience firsthand what a Project Manager and a Project Engineer role is in construction. I also enjoyed having a routine and responsibilities in a construction site and being exposed to experienced engineers.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time to keep on learning, but the company does not offer a partial internship for the fall or spring semester. If something does not sit right with you, speak your mind and ask, they will not blame you for not knowing something, it is better to ask than to keep it to yourself.

Advice

Learn as much as you can and from as many people as you can. All knowledge is important and you can learn a lot, from different individuals and in different positions. Make sure to take it upon yourself to really be responsible and active with as many things as you can. Make sure to take notes and ask questions, you must learn as much as you can and show you are interested.
