Project Engineering Student

October 2019 • Brookings, SD

What I liked

I'm involved in many different projects. I've had the opportunity to work on projects for University of Alabama, TD Garden, and many other important facilities around the globe. It's rewarding seeing the work you've done as a finished product.

What I wish was different

This summer I was asked to do 6 weeks on hands on manufacturing work because of covid reasons. I wasn't able to do any engineering work, but on the other hand it was interesting to see how the displays were assembled. Even though I wasn't able to do engineering work I think it was a good experience.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions. It can be intimidating right away because there is a lot to learn. Asking questions is a good way to not only get an answer but to also get an understanding of why they do things a certain way. It can also be a time-saver instead of spending 30 minutes trying to figure it out yourself you can get in answer within 30 seconds.
