The full-time members treat you like part of the team and have given me opportunities to learn all sorts of marketing skills that I probably wouldn't have gotten in a regular writing internship.
What I wish was different
I wish faculty members took interns more seriously, but as time goes on and your reputation builds, many are more quick to respond and send you tips.
Advice
Don't be discouraged by not knowing everything you might think you need; it's all about learning!
