What I liked
Three things really stood out to me at Datavant: the mission of the company, the friendliness of the team, and the abundance of personal growth opportunities. As someone with an interest in data ethics, I found it very fulfilling for me to work on Datavant's mission of safely connecting health data. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the work, the internship was also a great opportunity for me to learn about the HIPAA Privacy Rule for protecting personal health data. Throughout the summer, I also felt that everyone I worked with (both within and outside of engineering) was extremely supportive of my success. Lastly, I experienced immense growth as an engineer due to the amount of freedom I was given for my intern project and the strong relationship I was able to build with my manager.
